Sorry to everyone that I have not been on schedule I've had quite the week! But to jump right in I wanted this blog to focus on humility, our heavenly gifts, and how these all connect.
For starters, my old youth group teacher once put it perfectly when he said, "humility is having an accurate view of yourself." This is perfect because, you're not being humble if you are calling yourself ugly or things along those lines, and you're not doing it by having a high and mighty attitude either. Both scenarios are all about YOU.
To complete the equation at hand we must come to understand talent. I don't care who you are or what you've been told, YOU do have a talent chosen by God! I've heard it all too many times that someone says they don't have any talent whatsoever or any gifts. This is completely untrue, most just have to grow in the Lord and find out what their gift is.
To me, this system of everyone having a special "present" that is unique and full of one-of-a-kind beauty, is beyond impressive and again shows us what an artist God is!
The last major point I want to hit is, there are so many things in this temporary world God has given us, that it is impossible for us to limit our mind to just painting, singing, etc. as the only talents. For instance, I've taken up the hobbies of writing, needle felting (which is a very undiscovered craft), and design. I love all of these and much more and constantly look into new ways to take what I like and use it to only further Gods glory.
So, how do these two connect? The answer is simple before you can discover what you are good at, you MUST have an accurate view of yourself and what your capable of. That's why most say they have no gift, they have zero confidence.
To conclude, allow the Lord to give you confidence or break you down to size, so that you can enjoy the presents that await the humble
Thanks for reading,
